What is MANOS?

MANOS is a non-profit, created and led by women, dedicated to offering free legal services to refugees, migrants, and to families of “disappeared” migrants, as well as the implementation of educational projects that help civil society understand the migration phenomenon from an informed and humanistic perspective.

What We Face

Thousands of Mexicans leave their homes and go north hoping for more security and stability. Thousands of people from around the world who are fleeing violence, poverty, and corrupt governments cross into Oaxaca, Mexico. Many who are journeying north continue on to the U.S. and arrive at the border with little understanding of what their rights are; many never make it to their destination and “disappear” within Mexico or soon after crossing illegally into the U.S. Given the magnitude of this humanitarian crisis, more support for migrants is urgently needed. By coming together, across borders, we can more effectively address the needs of our migrant community.
